COVID-19 Case in YMM

Dear YMM family and friends,

We would like to update you on a COVID-19 related matter that has come to our attention.

On 12 October 2021, we were alerted that a YMM member has been tested positive for COVID-19. This person attended the English Service at 11:00am on 10 Oct, developed symptoms on 11 Oct, and tested positive on 12 Oct. The person was fully vaccinated and was sitting in chapel (hall 1) according to safe-distancing requirements and did not go to other areas in A’Posh building. We thank God that the person has only mild symptoms and is isolated at home for recovery.

All members who are known to have had non-transient contact with the person after the English Service have been asked to do a self-administered ART test and monitor their health for next 7 days. MOH will also conduct contact tracing, and anyone found to have been in prolonged contact with the affected person will be advised accordingly. Please seek medical treatment if you have developed symptoms.

All YMM Services are in adherence to safe management protocol. As an additional measure, staff members and volunteers serving at English service will be asked to take an ART self-test prior to the English Service this Sunday 17 October. Furthermore, our chapel will undergo thorough disinfection prior to this Sunday’s Services.

All our Physical Services will continue as scheduled this Sunday 17 Oct. We will monitor the situation closely and update you if there are any further developments.

For updates, please visit our website at www.yishunmethodist.org or For prompt updates, please subscribe to our WhatsApp broadcast at 96580640.

We are only informing you of the situation, and there is no need to be alarmed. Let’s pray for the affected member of our church family. Let’s also pray for our nation during this challenging period, remembering that our God is in sovereign control.

Peace, Rev Cynthia Choo Pastor-in-charge of YMM

Temporary Suspension of On-Site Services

Dear YMM family and friends,

We would like to update you on a COVID-19 related matter that has come to our attention.

On 16 September 2021, we were alerted that a staff has been tested positive for COVID-19. Based on our understanding, contact tracing is ongoing and the Ministry of Health (MOH) will be in touch with those who have been identified as close contacts. At this moment, the church has not received any further instruction from MOH. If you receive a sms notification from MOH, please comply and monitor your health as instructed.

As a safety precaution, the church has decided to suspend this weekend worship services and all other onsite activities with immediate effect. Should we receive further notification from MOH, we will comply with the instructions given. If the church does not receive any notice from MOH over the next few days, we will still proceed to arrange for deep cleaning and disinfection in accordance to the NEA guidelines. This is to make sure that YMM worshippers will have a cleaned and safe environment for worship.

In the meantime, for those who have attended onsite service on 12 Sept 2021, we would encourage you to monitor your health over the next few days, even if you did not receive any notification from MOH. If you have any onset symptom, please seek medical advice immediately.

We are only informing you of the situation, and there is no need to be alarmed. Do pray for the staff and family, and also to pray for the Lord’s grace and protection over the church. May the peace and love of Christ be upon you. For prompt updates, please subscribe to our WhatsApp broadcast at 96580640.

Peace, Rev Cynthia Choo Pastor-in-charge of YMM
