Background: The “love feast” of the early church was held with the Lord's supper. (2 Peter 2:13; Jude 12) Believers brought food for sharing, the rich brought much, and the poor brought less. Unfortunately, such a meal became a time to distinguish between the rich and the poor. Paul was deeply troubled and strongly rebuked them. a. According to (11:23–26) what is the central significance of the Lord’s Supper? What were the causes of some receiving it unworthily? b. See (11:17–22 and 27–32). How can we make our reception of the Lord’s Supper more worthy?
